Horse Camp at the Beach, Part 2

The horses are what make our bi-annual trip to Nehalem Bay State Park so special. My parents not only have regular sized horses, they also have miniature horses. I just love these little guys! They are great with kids, but us adults have fun riding around on the carts, too. The older grandkids can ride them with a saddle, like Jessica (my sis's oldest daugther), above. She's got Hailey on the back of Baker Man.There are so many grandkids now, that it takes awhile to make sure they all get a good ride in. This is a picture of my dad, driving Baker Man (36" high) and my husband, Michael, driving Dough Boy (32" high). If my dad and I are driving together, we usually end up racing, kind of our running joke. You should see us drive go-carts!Here is a picture of my brother, Jerry, and Michael going up over the dune after driving the minis on the beach. You have to walk behind them in deep sand. By the time Michael got to the top, Hailey had fallen asleep on the seat. She rode like this all the way back to camp. She was one tired girl!Hailey and I went for a little ride on the Nellie. The horses get a lot of exercise when we go to the beach. I always enjoy riding with my dad.

My next post will include some funny around the camp-fire pictures, so stay tuned!

God Bless,
Jackie

Those little horse are so adorable! We use to visit Land of Little Horses in Gettysburg, PA. So neat to meet them, and interact with them. Thanks for sharing!

I know it was a typo but I can't resist teasing you about it - You always enjoy riding your dad? :)

That trip looks like a lot of fun, no wonder you guys like to do it together with your family. I'll be the kids love every moment of it too.

Love your beach pictures. What fun memories you're making.
Love your fourth of July pictures too. (Your mom looks just like you and your sister.) :) The hardwood floors look really nice. (I'm trying to catch up, I haven't been on the computer a lot lately, but what a treat to get to enjoy all your great photos!)
In His love,
Tina

Ruth,
How embarrassing! I just fixed the typo. Thank you so much for bringing to my attention. I haven't had a piggy back ride on my dad since I was five years old, LOL!

Oh Jackie! I would have *loved* that as a child!! Horses were my passion! I would even say they were an idol of the heart...sad to admit that!! Thankfully, I have them in their proper place now...the LORD is so gracious with us, isn't HE? :)

Wonderful photos of what looks to have been a wonderful holiday!

Blessings,
Camille
