AWANAS Grand Prix

The kids were able to participate in the AWANAS Grand Prix this year. Cubbies were even invited to attend, so Hailey was able to race a car, too. My folks were able to come up for it as well.

This is Josiah's Sparks leader, Christine, with all the cars that participated. I thank God for her. She has a special place in her heart for Josiah and is speaking into his life. She raised a strong-willed child very similar to him, so she says she just "gets" him.

Hailey's first race!

She got second place.

I just had to throw this picture in of my friend's son, Mitch. He got first place and he was so excited he could hardly breath. It was so precious!

Josiah didn't do well because we didn't measure the wheels before we glued them on.  He has a hard time losing, so this was a good lesson for him.

This has been a particularly challenging week between my son and I, so I would again appreciate your prayers as I continue to root out bad behavior. It is exhausting, not only teaching him, but trying to control myself, too, so I don't turn into "Godzilla Mom". I don't know how people parent without God. I praise Him that I can go to Him and ask for wisdom and the strength to persevere when I don't know what to do and I'm exhausted. He answered my prayers today when my friend offered to take my kids for the whole afternoon so I could take a nap and just have some down time. What a blessing! I know God is going to use all this stubborness for His good someday.

Blessings,
Jackie

I'm praying for you and thanking God that he placed Dorene in your life.

Mitch is just precious in that picture. How cool!

What a great friend Jackie. All Moms need that time to just rest! The hardest times for parenting for me are when I am tired. I don't do tired well! I have a child who is so much more strong willed than my others...MILES apart even. I keep praying and training and trusting that God is going to make her into a powerhouse for the faith. Just imagine what those strong willed children will do as strong willed adults for the Gospel. I bet Paul was a little strong willed! May God continue to strengthen you for the noble task of mothering my friend!

Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving!
Jackie

I feel the same way about Bethany sometimes. She has an overwhelming amount of energy and does some of the most off the wall things that I just don't get. Of my two kids Elisha and I are the most alike and I understand his reasoning. But with my girl, well I find myself thanking God that I am daily learning things through her, as tough as the lessons can be for me at times. I agree with you, I don't know how people parent without God and His wisdom and grace.

How fun for the races and Hailey getting 2nd place! Cute photo of Mitch too! I will be praying for you and keep up the good work. It's never easy but this parent hood thing is awesome. A good time and thanks for giving Josiah the training he needs. Been there, done that, feel for you, dear friend. Hugs! Happy Thanksgiving!
