I'm very excited because I passed my motorcycle endorsement test for the state of Oregon. I'm really glad I took the class because I learned so much! I've learned that I've got a lot of bad habits to break from years of riding dirt bikes. It was an intense course, but wow, was it good! I'm now practicing those skills on Michael's bike in the evenings around our quiet neighborhood. I'll stick to our our residential area until I get a better feel for Michael's bike and to make sure I can corner every corner without going into the opposite lane! I'm definitely improving and feeling more comfortable on Michael's big bike. This first picture is of me on Mom's bike in Pendleton, just after I learned I passed the test. It was the perfect end to a wonderful Mother's Day.
Can you tell I'm happy?
I'm getting a feel for Michael's bike in this picture. I'm walking it around it circles, easing the clutch in and out. This was pre-take off.
Here's a picture of me after I got home. I'm having so much fun! I can't tell you the feeling I had when I got on Michael's motorcycle and rode around the neighborhood. I never thought I'd be able to ride a bike that big. I'm really taking it slow and easy. I'm practicing the new skills I've learned and want to get them really honed before I ride on the main roads. I want to be as safe as possible!

You look so tiny on that big bike!
ReplyDeleteThe boys think you bought a German helmet. Is that the same helmet that you had before? If not, I want to buy your old one for when I ride the scooter and the four wheeler.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on going legal. You look great on the bike. Keep safe.
ReplyDeleteLook at you!!! Congrats and have fun!!

I'm so proud of you! Way to go! :}
ReplyDeleteHey there biker chick! LOL! Congrats on getting your license. I have another friend who is a motorcycle driver, and she really loves it! Now if only I could get my Aussie drivers license I'd be happy. I keep failing the online practice tests I take, and it is extremely disheartening. I read the drivers manual, and nothing sticks. And I can't even concentrate when I read the book. I definitely won't be able to drive solo before my oldest boy starts 8th grade. :-(
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a big bike! So impressive! Congratulations on your exciting accomplishment, have fun! (and thanks for the compliment...your kindness is appreciated!)
ReplyDeleteIt isn't a German helmet. It's a half-helmet. I'll use it for slower rides, around town. I'm going to keep my full face helmet for on the highway, back roads or freeway. I was going to get rid of that one and get a full-faced black helmet, but they said you want a lighter helmet because it is easier to be seen. So, I think I'll stick with my not so cool striped white and gray helmet. Sorry!
