Joe's "To-Die-For" Sweet Chili Nectarine Salsa Recipe
6 Roma tomatoes, chopped1/2 yellow onion, chopped
2 nectarines, peels on, chopped
1 bunch of cilantro
1 Tbl fresh finely chopped basil leaves
1/3 cup of Franky's Sweet Red Hot Chili Sauce (made with sugar, not corn syrup)
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all together and you've got a new salsa favorite! Just be careful about sitting too close to the bowl, LOL.
This recipe makes about 1 quart of salsa.

So...was high-fructose corn syrup one of the ingredients in the bottled sauce????? If so, that's why you couldn't stay out of it! :) We make a similar salsa w/o the bottled stuff and with pineapple or peaches for the sweetness.
I like my salsa hot, hotter than most people can take. 'Just makes me feel alive!!! Heeehehee!!
Your salsa looks marvelous :o)
God bless and have yourself an extraordinary day sweetie!!!
Y.U.M.!!! Now, when is it that I am coming over for a visit??? ;-)
Love to you!
Camille
Anytime, Camille! Would love to have you visit :)
Catherine,
I looked at the bottle closer and it says sugar, not corn syrup. So that is a little better at least.
Nezzy,
Not sure if you'd like this salsa, since it is pretty mild. You and my husband would get a long great. He loves extra hot stuff!
Is the chili sauce spicy? I know that sounds like a dumb question, but you say the sauce is sweet? I'm not much for hots, but the rest of the ingredients sound great! :-)
Have a great night!
blessings,
Jill
It is spicy, but you can put as much or as little as you want. My sister hates hot stuff and she loves this recipe.
This is to die for!!! It is a staple in our household. Thanks JOE!!!!
